Learn To Row Summer CampFAQ

I’ve never rowed before. Can I still join?
Yes!  Our Learn to Row program is designed for someone just like you…no experience is necessary! You’ll love to try it.  You’ll meet new friends, learn the basics of the sport of rowing and improve your overall fitness level.

What should I bring to class?
Typical athletic gear is all that is required, as long as it is not too baggy. Baggy clothing can get caught in the movable seats of both racing shells and the ergs. Please wear gym shoes, not sandals. Bring your water bottle.

Can my parents come and watch?
Absolutely. The Brittingham Boathouse is a beautiful facility and there is plenty of space for your parents to find a spot in the shade and watch the classes.

Will practice be held if it rains?
We are serious about safety and strictly adhere to the safety regulations established by our sport’s governing body, the USRowing Association. We row rain or shine, as long as there is no danger of lightning and the winds are reasonably light. If storms do occur, the camp can easily move indoors at the Brittingham Boathouse for continued training on ergs.  In the rare situation that a cancellation must occur due to weather, CRRC will not issue refunds for that day.

Is financial aid available?
Financial Aid is available for those participants meeting the Federal Eligibility Guidelines for Free or Reduced Lunch. Scholarships will be awarded to the extent that funds are available. Download the Scholarship Application Here.

Can I request a pro-rated fee if my child can only attend some, but not all of the session?

There is no pro-rating of fees for partial attendance.  We encourage participants to attend all the days of the session.  We understand scheduling conflicts due to other summer commitments, but since we have allotted a spot for them and our costs for coaches and staff continue, we do not pro-rate.
