Fall/Winter Workout Term

The Fall/Winter Workout term begins on September 1, 2010 and meets from 4-6:30 PM, M-F at the Brittingham boathouse through mid-November. During December, voluntary winter workouts are held in basement of the Hilldale Mall from 4-6:30 PM, M-F. Winter workouts for the entire Junior team begin on January 3, 2011 and continue until the end of March or as soon as the ice melts on Lake Monona.

The 2010 Fall/Winter workout term dues have been determined by the CRRC Finance Committee and Board and will be $710 per rower. This fee covers daily operation expenses for the Fall/Winter workout junior program, including coaching stipends, shell insurance, equipment rental fees, gas, maintenance fees for launches and motors, etc., and allows Junior athletes to participate in all team practices through the conclusion of the Fall/Winter workout term at the end of March or as soon as the ice melts on Lake Monona. Also included in this fee are regatta and travel costs, including regatta entry fees, bus rental, shell rental, trailer expenses, food, housing, tow vehicle fuel and other costs associated with travel and regattas.

During the Fall/Winter workout term, the junior crew competes in regattas throughout the Midwest, including the Milwaukee River Challenge (Milwaukee, WI), the Tail of the Fox (DePere, WI), the Head of the Rock (Rockford, IL) and the Monona Terror (Madison, WI). Select varsity rowers compete in the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, MA and should estimate that this trip alone will be an additional cost of around $1,000 per rower, which covers airfare, hotel, race registration and meals.

Note: CRRC makes all travel and lodging accommodations for rowers and coaches.
