Junior Team - Fall/Winter Season

August 16, 2021 – February 25, 2022

The fall season of rowing is considered the “head race” season in rowing. Rowing is similar to cross country and track in that the fall racing season is longer races (3000-6000m) and spring is shorter (1500-2000m) races. Athletes are often training their fitness and technique in preparation for the spring season; they compete locally, regionally, and nationally with our top athletes attending the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, MA. Here in Wisconsin we are taking advantage of all the days we can get on the water before the temperature drops and ice forms on the lake, taking us to land-training during the winter season.

Our season continue into the winter where our athletes focus on cross-training through erging (indoor rowing machine), running, spinning, lifting, core, functional movement, and yoga. The coaches are preparing the athletes to train smart while working on the physical and mental components of being a student-athlete.
