Coach Cory Conzemius joins the CRRC staff after being involved with the sport for the past fourteen years. He brings an extensive background not only as a coach but also rower and coxswain. Conzemius looks forward to sharing his passion with the next generation of rowers.
“I am excited for this opportunity to coach at Camp Randall,” said Conzemius, “my hope is to help the team and each individual achieve his/her goals.” He hopes to bring his passion for the sport to his athletes. “Creating a balanced atmosphere of fun, hard work, dedication, competitiveness and teamwork is something I hope I can instill in the athletes.” Coaching has been one of the most rewarding parts of his life. “To help the athletes find their passion for the sport and grow not only as athletes but individuals has been truly rewarding”, Conzemius said.
Originally from Breckenridge, Minn., Conzemius got his start in rowing as a walk-on at American University, in Washington, D.C. He rowed for two years prior to switching over to coxing. While in DC he also competed for the Potomac Boat Club. After graduating, he began his coaching career in the high school ranks, including serving three years as Rowing Director for Gainesville Area Rowing in Florida. Conzemius also has a wealth of experience at the collegiate level, having coached at the University of Maryland, High Point University, and most recently with Adrian College.
Conzemius has seen success in coaching youth rowing, including sending nine crews over three years to Youth Nationals while at Gainesville.
As a fan of Badger basketball for several years Conzemius is eager to move to Madison, WI and call it home.
